Miami Hill Residence is a modern family home envisioned and implemented by BDA Architecture on a sloping site at Brakes Crescent, on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. This new construction is a bold addition to the hillside landscape, according to the architects: “The building is a composition of simple frames, planes of glass and overlapping walls of different materials. A dramatic site and its context presented an opportunity to create a dynamic built form that offered the owners a unique, secure and comfortable living environment.”
The main street-side entrance is accessed after passing through a courtyard, partially covered by the cantilevered volume. Large expanses of glass open up all the rooms towards lovely views. The socializing areas- living room, dining zone and kitchen- are located on the upper level and communicate with the roof terrace. It is here that the inhabitants can truly enjoy the vantage hillside position of their home.
The interior design is modern and minimalist, on a background of black, white and gray material finishes. Boasting generously-sized and well lit spaces, this Australian home comes with many opportunities for family interaction, one of the most important aspects of healthy living.
