Designed by two students ( Leona Dean and Zoe Robson ) at London South Bank University, Footlume is a new electroluminescent carpet that emits a soft glow as you step across it. The Footlume makes use of rechargeable batteries which power the lights of the rug in relation to the weight of the person walking on it. The rug produces light through electroluminescence which uses electric fields to determine the light-producing chemical to emit electromagnetic radiation in the visible spectrum. Finnaly the Footlume is expected to be presented this month at the Daily Mail Ideal Home Show in London. - Via - Livescience

Today I was viewing a slideshow from the June issue of Monocle, where they presented homes of Afghanistan’s nouveau-riche (many are druglords), and I saw this house. I stopped an I was really amazed by this design. The most touching part was the big black shiny window that is a sign of power and luxury. I love this. What do you think ?
