Fiat Lux Lamp is the latest product from Cate Hogdahl & Nelson Ruiz-Acal and is under production and will soon be launched ! Fiat Lux means “let there be light”, but from these pictures the lamp is not a marvelous source of light. The Fiat Lux Lamp has an integrated slot which definitely comes in handy to hold magazines and books, for those who like to read something right before going to bed. - Via - Square-Mag

This new Litracon based lamp consists of four identical pieces of concrete. Due to special geometry, these pieces form a stable structure without fixing them together. Now you can make your own lamp by using concrete blocks and a lightbulb in the middle. Litracon is normal concrete but with thousands of parallel optical fibres embedded into it.The fibres can pass the light and color through the block .You can get this lamp for $770 plus the shipping taxes from Hungary. Ingenious no?

Hurdle Lighting was designed by Koreans Lee Suk Woo and Byeon Dong Jin, and received a Special Mention in the 2007 Lightouch Design Competition in Singapore. The light structure is designed to stand either horizontally (like its namesake) or vertically, more like a desk lamp. A sensor detects how it’s been positioned and operates the light accordingly. I would like to have a desk lamp like this to read focused and undisturbed in the middle of the night, away from the heat durring the day. - Via - Scifi

A german company named Aeneus came with a very interesting idea. They have a collection of beautiful lamps that can produce an astonishing effect in a room, and also can be useful as a decoration as well. Just take a look at these images and you’ll see how they play with shadow and light in an artistic way. - Price : 299.00 € - Via - Elit Alice

Twin Arc Lamp has something special, that attracts me. I’m a big fan of modern stuff, but I don’t know why I love this retro-style lamp. Twin matching arches form a unique arm that reaches to an etched rose glass shade offsetting the dark metal base. The price for this old looking lamp is $69.95.
