I like to play Ping Pong, and I remember that a few years ago I’ve spent a lot of time playing Ping Pong every day. Today someone thought to gather a lot of table tennis balls, and create a product. Designer Diaz Kleefstra took 315 standard 40 mm celluloid table tennis balls and created a lamp, that as been named after the famous dutch table tennis player Bettine Vriesekoop. For those of you who want this handmade lamp you can get it from here for € 394,95. – Via

Jon Heller from Happycatlights sent me an email to present his little personalized lamps business that he and his wife started. Happycatlights produces desk lamps that are 8×8x4 light boxes, made of a sturdy white plastic that gives off a warm glow from the bulb inside. What makes these lamps unique is the hand-carved design on the front, which is chosen by you. Now if you want a personalized lamp you just send a picture of a design you would like for your lamp, and they will give you a quote for how much the design will cost. After that if you order, they then hand-carve the design into a hard stock paper of your choosing – they have a selection of solid and patterned paper for you to choose from. The design is then placed on the front of the lamp, and covered with a transparent plastic faceplate to give it a finished look. Most people like to buy this kind of personalized lamps as gifts, as they are hand made and completely unique. Others have used them to decorate their living rooms or personalize their workspace. The lamps start at $45, and you can have your unique lamp with your own design just like in these pictures below.

Created by the Japanese Kyouei Design Studio, the lamp “Honeycomb” is entirely made of paper “denguri“, a product of the Shikoku region from Japan, which is unique in effect and create a lantern that is only 2 cm thick when is packaged for delivery. The delicate design opens like a book into a honeycomb pattern that’s held together with small clips in the back. Once unfolded, it presents a soft-yet-stable paper lamp that has its own aura of architecture. It comes without any wiring or bulbs, so all you’ll need to do is add a bulb and a cord and you’re set. It’s gorgeous, unique and special enough to change our moods entirely. The design is pretty ingenious and the good news is that you can take it with you while you travel because is just 2 cm thick when packaged. The price for the Honeycomb Lamp is $56.00 and you can get it from here.

The Duck Lamp was created by Sebastian Errazuriz and is a really strange and creepy lamp. The lamp isn’t for sale, I think that this design will remain just a design because I don’t see people buying something like this. As a design is unique and interesting but this lamp only purpose is to scare off your friends and family too, but who know’s maybe there are people who like this design. – Via – Ohgizmo & Wired
