Last week I was in Bucharest to meet a few people that I knew from the internet. We spoke for a long time online but we never saw each other in real life, and I’ve decided that right now I could go to visit Bucharest and meet a few of my “digital friends“. Now to avoid paying between 50 & 100 euro/night to stay at a hotel a good friend of mine ( Adi ) took me to his little one room apartment, and how I have a blog about architecture, interior design, furniture, etc …I’ve decided to take some pictures, because I really liked how Adi made that small place look really good. Now let’s take a look at this small one room apartment, that is a great example of how you can make a small apartment look really good.
At night these red lights make a very romantic and calming atmosphere.

Here you can see the bed and a small part of the kitchen …yes I know is very small.

From this picture you can see how small is the kitchen, in that corner of the room.

Inside the small kitchen …only the things you really need.

I know that the picture is a little bit messy, but here is the small office desk from where I’ve accessed the internet in the last week.

After I’ve just posted the Modern and Contemporary Beds Inspiration I’ve found John Lum Architecture , a firm based in San Francisco located in a converted laundry machine factory. I’ve studied their portfolio for a few minutes, and what got my attention was the kitchens that they designed, and I’ve thought to make another collection of inspirational kitchen pictures. Their work is can be characterized as timeless, distinctive and elegantly modern, and I can say that the first kitchen is my favorite. - Via

Designed by Billy May, Torn Lighting concept is an interesting way of adding some light to your home. Torn Lighting is perfectly disguised on your wall while hiding it’s LED secrets from view. The installations conceal LED lights, and look like you’ve got some kind of weird space-time holes torn into your walls and leaking light into your room. Painted with the same color as your walls, Torn Lighting comes in multiple designs and shapes that can be used at both wall corners and flat surfaces. In conclusion if you want an original way to add light to your walls then Torn Lighting might give you a FRESH idea. - Via

The Swedish Interior Designs are heavily influenced by the light and weather of Scandinavia, because long dreary winters with early dusk and a lack of natural light necessitated rethinking the structure of the interior design. Anything dark, gloomy, and heavy was out while anything pale, light, airy, and minimal was in. Pale walls ( especially white ones ), floors, and furnishings reflected whatever light was available, thus cheering and lightening even the darkest days of winter. Accessories are kept simple and displayed in an uncluttered manner, that offers a fresh and clean look. Swedish style interiors are becoming more and more popular. It’s a look that combines refined elegance with a casual aged appearance that seems to have universal appeal. These beautiful minimalistic interior design pictures are from Åsberg Interiör & Styling ( of course a Swedish website ).

In these days more and more people live in small apartments, because the prices for buying or renting an apartment are higher and higher every year. Now the most challenging issue with living in a small apartment is not the size of the apartment itself, but all the things you have to organize in a small place. Many apartment dwellers find themselves dealing with overcrowded apartment homes because of the economical advantages, sacrificing functionality for an affordable living arrangement. The solution for this problem is to create a living area that is comfortable, enjoyable, and at the same time maximizing your space. I’ve decided to post a few pictures with small apartments because in the last weeks a few people sent me emails asking me if I can post a few interior design ideas for small apartments, and here are a some interesting projects.
