Maybe you don’t have enough space or money for a walk in closet, but here is a solution that will allow you to have an envy-inspiring clothes storage area by dressing up the doors. These sliding bamboo closet doors from Moso Bamboo add interest to what would otherwise , and be a pretty plain wall. – Via

If you would like to brighten up and inject some life into a dull room, then you should check this beautiful idea. SkyCeilings are photographic illusions of real skies that fit into standard ceiling grid systems. SkyCeilings faux skylights now include programmable lighting which can be used to emulate the intensity and color changes that come with a rising and setting sun. Luminous SkyCeilings feature fluorescent or LED lighting that illuminate the translucent images from behind. Ambient SkyCeilings are made from opaque image tiles that are lit by room or cove lighting. So if you want an amazing view when you wake up in the morning ….just imagine how would you start the day with such a view ( meanwhile I’ve found an amazing view that everyone must see, check out this image ). – Via

Ouch. With oil selling at record prices, filling up our cars at the pump really hurts our wallets these days. Global demand, especially from rapidly growing economies like China and India, is far outstripping our capacity to produce enough oil. So it makes more and more sense to curb our dependence on crude. Perhaps a good way to remind us to change our oil guzzling lifestyle is this gold tone oil can tea set made by Designcommando (Germany). The designers called their creation Beautifuel Life because “We all have a beautiful life that is given to us by oil and fuel.”

The coffee service is porcelain. For the exclusive series, the oil can is covered with real gold. It is painted gold for the normal series. The gold colour serves as a daily reminder that the cost of oil may as well be in the same category as the precious metal itself. So each morning you pour your favourite beverage from the oil can pot, you will be conscious of draining supplies.

Sometimes you don’t have to spend oodles of money for great design. A simple idea, some DIY skills and voila! A project that delivers visual impact on a small budget. Jean, a soft goods designer and one half of Ladies and Gentleman Home started using pant hangers as a inexpensive solution to hanging her prints years ago. She was most amused to find that the pant hanger idea was featured in the summer issue of Oprah’s O at Home magazine. Jean adds, “I love pant hangers myself and think that they are elegant, well-designed utilitarian objects. I have a whole collection of vintage hangers in all different sizes, materials and forms.” She uses them either simply on picture hooks or on a wooden grid frame set behind her sofa. The result are stunning wall displays. The beauty of her design is you can easily switch the prints around whenever you feel like it! – Via

When I saw these pictures for the first time I’ve immediately thought at the amazing 3D chalk drawings done by Julian Beever ( see his works here ). What you can see in these pictures is a brilliant new take on house decoration, and I’m sure that that my readers would want to admire these pictures. This guy does an amazing job, but unfortunately the work of this one mystery man has been floating all around the internet for some time now, but does anyone know his name, or something about him. Finally I would like to ask you to post a comment if you know who is the author of these amazing 3 dimensional wall paintings, because he should be getting some commissions.
