Coffee Table Inspired by Ipod

Wired’s Nicole Martinelli ( Italian correspondent ) spotted this iCoffee table last week in the lobby of Milan’s Nhow design hotel. I expected to see at least one product inspired by the well known Ipod, and here it is one, and it looks as good as the Ipod, simple and sleek. – Via

Sports Furniture, a Solution for a Small Gym in Your Home

I’m pretty sure that most people don’t have apartments large enough so they can have their own gym at home. Now a solution for having a “little gym” in your home come from Postfossil that has a new line called Sports Furniture that looks promising. The sports furniture collection is primarily intended to maintain physical fitness at home but is at the same time a furniture collection that easily blends into the living space. The collection consists of a pull-up-bar, mat, bench, skipping rope and a cup. The bench is a stylish wood bench with storage for other equipment and sturdy enough to workout on. The pull-up bar looks like a piece of sculpture, I mean it’s not hard to look at and more attractive than those doorway mounted pull-up bars. – Via

Light Plumbing Candle Holders by Claus Bjerre

Since electricity is present in almost any home, the candle holders industry declined, but they are still good for decoration, or to create a romantic atmosphere. For today here it is a series of masculine candle holders, called Light Plumbing. With Light Plumbing, Claus Bjerre has taken what is normally a very feminine object and turned it masculine. The candle holders are made in galvanized iron pipe and fittings commonly used in plumbing. The candle holders, which are a mix of craft and industrial design, have a powerful expression and reflect both masculinity and humor. – Via

Patino Furniture that can Save Space in your Balcony

There were numerous space saving designs here on Freshome, but this time here is something that we didn’t covered until now. Designer Sandy Lam created a design that is not only useful because it saves space, it is also completely hidden with zero space invasion while not in use. The purpose of this design is to increase the functionality of balconies and to enhance the concrete city look. This system will help to maximize condo living space because residents can extend their indoor living into the outdoor. Even when fully assembled, the hide-away system is a minimalist lover’s delight. The design is also flexible to its owner. If you were to move away, you can take the hide-away furniture with you and place it in the next balcony or living room. Here you can see with this design, that is simply called Spaceless below, and at the end a video with the design in action. Enjoy ! – Via – Yankodesign

Brilliant Idea for a Pillow Designer

From time to time people come up with a crazy idea, like this one, but sometimes a crazy idea can be used as a source of inspiration.  A crazy idea that I’ve found today came from Justin. He went to several supermarket bakeries to look for the right pillow-like cake to sleep on. I don’t know why someone would do something like this, but he wanted to sleeping on it, like you sleep on a pillow. When I saw the picture for the first time I said to myself : “What a cool pillow !“, of course that I watched the picture first and skipped the text. After I’ve read the text I thought that this is a really cool idea for a pillow, and I’ve decided to post it on Freshome …who knows maybe someone who’s looking for a little piece of inspiration for a new product will actually use this idea.

sweet dreams
