Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater House Offers Exclusive Access

Share |

Frank Lloyd Wright was one of the most famed American architect, interior designer, writer and educator, who designed more than 1,000 projects, which resulted in more than 500 completed works. He is best known for designing Fallingwater. Fans of Frank Lloyd Wright’s house Fallingwater have long been able to visit the architect’s modernist masterpiece as a museum, but soon they can enjoy the house almost as if they were living in it. Right now regular visitors pay $18 admission to visit the house, but for $1,195, these exclusive visitors will feel what living in Fallingwater is truly like, although they will sleep in a new Frank Lloyd Wright style home on the property grounds. Four million people have visited the home since it’s public open, about ninety minutes from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but now for that exclusive price tag you can have a new unique ( and expensive ) experience. You can find more info about this from here. – Via – Reuters

Crazy Upside Down House in Germany

Share |

This out of the ordinary house was designed for a special exhibition in Trassenheide Germany and is open to the public for visiting. The creators – Klaudiusz Golos and Sebastion Mikuciuk say they “didn’t built the house for a reason, they just wanted to do something different.”   Similar houses were built before but this time not only the exterior is upside down, but every single room in the house and also the furniture. ”The world stands on its head” is the official name of the project. You will notice in the pictures how every arrangement seems very accurate and how all the main items in a normal house appear upside down in this design too. We salute this wonderful burst of creativity and we are looking forward for more out-of-the-box architecture.- via Impact Lab

Walnut House by Giulietti/Schouten

Share |

Located in a beautiful hilly region in McMinnville, Oregon, the Walnut House is probably the best Portland-based Giulietti/Schouten Architects have ever come up with. Meant as a low maintenance house, the two-bedroom, three-bath home has been constructed with many sustainable features. The whole structure comes with exposed concrete walls and veneer wood panels for siding and lots of glass for natural day-lighting. The Walnut House charms with its contemporary design that promotes open spaces and its state of the art lighting. We’re completely sold, we love it all the way down. – via

House in Wakaura, Japan, from Archivi Architects&Associates

Share |

This fascinating private home was built near Wakayama city, in Wakaura bay, Japan by Archivi Architects & Associates of Osaka. The intention was to build this house around two small courtyards and the architects certainly aced that one. Here is some further information from the creators of the project: “The shape of site is transformed into the gibbosity. A settled residence space locates it in this projecting part. It becomes possible for a big garden to appear at the center of a narrow site in doing so, and to supply to both residence spaces as a garden that can be opposite to green, light, and the style of nature“. What makes this house dreamy, besides its impressive architecture, is the mix of wood and vegetation. This is what turns it into a cosy place and gives it that homy feeling. – via dezeen

Amazing Courtyard Architecture by Studio Junction

Share |

Hardest thing to do when you have an undersized environment to live in, is to actually make the whole thing look larger. The idea is to make the most of your open space to create an airy effect in your dwelling. However if not handled well, your house may not look appealing anymore. With that in mind, Studio Junction, a Toronto based architecture firm, had brilliantly found a solution to that issue by modernizing the concept of “infill neighborhood” with this amazing courtyard design. The contemporary interior was built for a family of four by blending a traditionally indoor living space and a freshly landscaped natural courtyard.
