About

The Freshome story began in Romania ( a small country in Europe ) back in 2007 when founder and CEO Micle-Mihai Cristian launched a blog that would go on to become one of the most popular and successful online magazines to date focusing on interior design and architecture. Currently clocking up an impressive 3.8+ million unique monthly visitors, the site provides daily inspiration and advice to those who are seeking to improve, organise and style their homes. With an archive of 7000+ posts featuring over 90,000+ images of great interior products and architectural projects it is no wonder that Freshome has one of the most engaged online communities on the net.

Freshome has grown to become an authority in its niche and its content is regularly picked up and shared by some of the most influential and widely read internet sites including Yahoo News, Gizmodo, CNET, and The Huffington Post. Freshome is regularly selected as being one of the top blogs on the net and Technorati rates it in the Top 100 blogs for the categories of Travel, Art, Living and Home, in which it ranks as the second most influential blog. Even Forbes has picked up on the success of the site, choosing to interview Micle Mihai and his team about the runaway growth that the blog has achieved since its inception.

Today, Freshome is the go-to destination for anyone who is passionate about design, architecture, luxury, travel, lifestyle and creativity in the home. Freshome founder and CEO Micle-Mihai Cristian started Freshome back in 2007 at the tender age of 20. Having dropped out of college, he decided he wanted to work for himself and set about forging a career for himself using the internet. Freshome was born when this young entrepreneur decided to combine his new business venture with the pursuit of his dream home. After some substantial online research he was sure that there was a sizeable audience out there who were also searching for inspiration to create their perfect home. Freshome became an online source that sought to show its readers how to make their world a better, more beautiful place.

Mihai’s eye for great design and his particular sense of style proved a hit and Freshome’s readership figures started to soar. His interest in marketing was piqued and from then on he became focused on growing the blog, constantly motivated by the improving statistics and analytics. His entrepreneurial streak has enabled him to develop Freshome into one of the most popular design-focused blogs on the web.

Outside of Freshome, Mihai is interested in business, marketing, sports, human mind, technology and  smart stuff. He also enjoys reading and travelling.

Lavinia has a Master’s degree in Cultural Management and is a University graduate in Tourism Economy. She also has a degree in photography and experience as a copywriter, developing targeted texts connected to various domains, including advertising, traveling and…design.

Freshome is a “place” that feeds her need for creativity and diversity. Seeing thousands of projects each month contributes to her understanding and deep appreciation of interior design and architecture.

But the best thing about her work is the actual interaction with people from all over the world, being able to get in contact with the best architects and designers out there and congratulating them on their amazing creations.

The infinite effort invested in this domain is truly overwhelming and is also her fundamental motivation engine. Lavinia believes she speaks on behalf of the entire team when she says that getting better and better is what Freshome strives for every day.
