Weekend Country House in Mexico Displaying a Strong Architectural Personality
Casa RO Tapalpa was especially developed by Elías Rizo Arquitectos as a retreat from the noise and stress of urban life. Embedded in a scenic forest area in the town of Tapalpa, Jalisco, Mexico, the residence is characterized by a distinct contemporary architecture and a basic program and layout. According to the architects, the house has a linear distribution and is structured in two functionally separated areas: the public areas facing the main terrace and the private zone accessed through a special corridor.
Here is more from the official project description: “The commission demanded a country house with common features, respect for the context and a specific program; but the most important request was for the house to step away from the usual typologies for houses of the region. With a contemporary personality, this house assumes a posture of absolute respect for the exterior which should be the main character. The house opens almost completely to the outside unlike all neighboring houses in the area“. What do you think- cozy enough for a week-end retreat?
