Created for Paul Dawson, the Harrison Street Residence displays the owner’s love for architecture. One of the owners at Dawson+Clinton – the architects behind this project, Paul needed a home for his young family – his wife, Rebecca and their two young children aged 3 and 5. The couple needed safe playing spaces for the children: “Urban living with a family doesn’t led itself to bike riding or skateboarding on the street out front, so making sure there was enough outdoor safe space for the kids to grow and play was of the utmost importance. In addition, the roof deck provides an adult area to entertain friends and enjoy the warmer weather in this part of the city.” The contrasting interior and exterior offer the possibility of constructing different visual points of interest: “The interior of the space is open, airy and bright showcasing the modern design but not sacrificing function. Using high end building materials, including stainless steal this provides for the durability need with two young growing active kids.” Dawson+Clinton General Contractors did a great job when designing the Harrison Street Residence. With a fresh approach to residential architecture, the meticulous architects and constructors from Dawson+Clinton created an outstanding escape from urban repetition by composing a symphony of private and public spaces.
