Share on Facebook Tweet Comment We found these two startling photos of Lujiazui District in Shanghai, one taken in 1990 and the other in 2010, as showcased by Business Insider. As you can see, the transformation is almost hard to believe. Lujiazui is currently a famous financial district in Shanghai. But until the 1980s, it was a relatively low-built area, consisting of residential houses, warehouses, and a few factories. Fast forward 20 years later and you have a 31.78 km² Lujiazui area accommodating more than 30 buildings over 25 stories high and over 504 financial corporations. Moreover, Lijianzui is an important tourist attraction with 5 five-star hotels for travelers everywhere. An impressive rise of one of China’s commercial cores which partially contributes to this country’s status as the world’s second largest economic power. Impressed?
