“Secret Stash” is one of the coolest ideas we’ve seen lately in this category. Creative and fun, this system comes from designer YiTing Cheng and is able to hide things like keys, money, documents and even valuable messages in places no one would ever think about searching. The designer explains how this is possible: “This project is about concealing valuables, secrets, bad habits and personal information in our workplaces. Here, hidden spaces/messages were created within 8 general objects such as wood boards, lamps and disposable coffee cups… How? Utilize stereotypes and visual camouflage. We make judgments based mainly on our experiences and what we see. This dependency on visual information can create large blind spots. Thus, usual stereotypes of how we perceive solid, transparency and lighting are employed in this project to play with notions of ’solid and void’, and ‘true and false”. im finding your information amazing
Very unique idea, it reminds me of the desk from the Oval Office in National Treasure 2, with the secret compartment. After watching the video I feel like a secret agent. Can’t wait to share this with the community!
I’m in the process of selling my house and would love to have the desk and bookshelf to hide things during showings.
I WISH I COULD HAVE THAT. IT’S GREAT!!!!!!!!
Excellent idea. I have stashed things in odd places, but then one is usually faced with the inconvenience of easily remembering and accessing those various places — this keeps things well organized and simple.
Amazing design ideas:) Always lots of ideas at Freshome. Thanks for sharing:)
