If you ever thought that building a home on water is easy stuff, you got that wrong. There’s weather you should consider, water levels and so on. Located on an island on Lake Huron in Ontario, Canada, this floating residence is work of MOS Architects; and they did a great job with their steel platform structure with incorporated pontoons that keeps it floating. The guys are not only great with structures, but also have taste for interiors. With large windows, open spaces, contemporary furniture, lots of wood and an amazing view of the lake, the floating house sounds like a great retreat for those hot summers, isn’t it?

I’m curious how they got approval to have this on the water. I know that it would be difficult in this part of Ontario.

How are waste waters dealt with. Extremely sterile looking.
Does it have leveling or pitch correction capabilities? Any wave damping features installed?
Typical look of floating homes in my area for the past 25 years or so. Waste was always a problem and refrigerators and other heavy items always caused an unbalanced result without built in compensation equipment. Land neighbors had them removed after long court battles……
