I always thought that you need to buy special tools to do your garden work and household chores but I never imagined that you can have a robot, actually helping you out – doing them for you, that is. Leading robot manufacturer, iRobot, announced that their Looj is able to clean your home’s gutters faster and easier than we do it with our hands. Designed for standard K-style, aluminum, copper, metal or vinyl gutters that are wider than 3.25m, the 19-inch long and 13-inch wide iRobot Looj will only take 10 minutes to clean a sixty foot length of gutter. Oh and did I telly you Looj is waterproof and comes with a wireless remote control? I’d love to try this thing …

I did try the thing. Not impressed.
If your gutters are brand new (as shown) and the only thing are leaves in your eaves – it will work.
Take an older home where the gutters are a little rounded at the bottom, and the brackets are a little saggy and the gutters have some shingle shedding in the bottom and some rotten leaves(almost every home) and it’s a bust. The Looj tends to ride up on the junk or the eaves and flip on it’s side or get hung up.
The whippy antenna also gets hung up on brackets.
But it’s great for chasing dogs around the living room!

I can see how the Looj will give problems but iRobot does come out with some great ideas. What will they think of next.
