Modern Computer Desk - VU.VU.VU

Modern Computer Desk – VU.VU.VU

The VU.VU.VU. computer desk designed by Ballabio – Elli is a writing and computer desk in shaped multi-layer plywood, with CD/CDRom/DVD space and extractable drawer for PC keyboard. When this desk was created the designer thought that we live in a modern world and a PC is almost in every house, and for that reason under the desk you have a suspended wood structure that was especially made to store the pc unit. The materials used for this desk are wenge and oak wood, with a chromed aluminum base structure. Finnaly the overall design looks good, but I’m wondering why is this computer desk called VU.VU.VU ? – Via – Emmemobili

I like the design, but those pc tower store thing below the table is so… 90s. And the drawer for the keyboard… no thanks.

Btw, I’ve never written a comment here, but I really love your site and got lots and lots of inspiration for my home. I plan to build a house in a few years and already collect all sorts of ideas. I even mentioned your site in an interview:

    Keep up the good work!

I like this desk mainly because of the depth, which is not appreciated in contemporary design of the workspaces. We do not use most of the flat surfaces on our desk. And it prevents cluttering the desk. People care more about it if they have to lift the part of the surface. Nice replacement of the drawer. The computer cases I think are out ofdate a bit, mainly because recently people using laptops a lot and an extra screen to connect it to.

Love it! Often times these days you see computer desks with glass tops. However, it’s really cool to see a modern wood computer desk like this one. Very futuristic yet retro. Great stuff!
