Designing a kid’s bedroom is a very good thought as it will surely impress your child. Also, the emotional bondage between you and your kid will be amplified. When your kid steps into the bedroom, his senses will feel your love, thus making it a bedroom filled with fatherly love. Therefore, he would just love to spend his time in the bedroom. So, it’s a good idea to design the bedroom by yourself, albeit, you should be acquainted with some knowledge of the ways to design. Else, your efforts will go in vain. So, one should not be over confident and get himself acquainted with the skills required to design. So, here are some things which should be taken into consideration at the time of designing a bedroom for the kids.

Your kids are going to play and have fun in their bedroom. They also might do their homework and study in their room. Besides, they could also relax and take a chill pill. So, after all these eclectic variety of things they might do, a parent will be as confused as a child lost in a dark and evacuated park. So, firstly, get your creative mind into work and think about something which will be a blend of all the possibilities that your child will do.

After that, you should consider something which will take your kid to the right direction i.e. something which can be a beacon of determination to achieve something.

Here, you should make use of all the imaginative and creative ideas, but, the most significant thing here is although you may come across brilliant ideas, yet, it should serve as a reflection of your child’s personality.

Lighting is an indispensable feature that should be there in a child’s room. Without it, the room will be like a bicycle without its seat. Psychologically, lighting affects he child’s brain in a very positive way. It ignites flames of joy and also keeps them in a good mood. It is like oxygen for the child.

Interaction is a good way of knowing what exactly the kids want because many times, the thoughts of parents and kids fickle. If one actually wished to delight their kids, then he should interact and try to find out what the kid likes. Also, as each kid is different, they have different interests. So, keeping this in mind, try to find out from the kid about his interests.

Some cartoon characters or superheroes really inspire your kids. In fact, they can inspire your kid more than anyone else. So, it is always good to find out which cartoon character or super hero your kid likes so that you can just give your kid a grand surprise.

You can also paint the walls with colors that will just be enlightening for the kids. It should add a touch of whimsy.

Also, you can select themes from a lot of options, though, keep the interest of the kid in mind. Some of the options may be starry night, angels, rainbows, unicorns, baseball, underwater scenery, outer space, race cars, airplanes, trains, jungle motifs, dragons, wizards, dinosaurs, Disney characters etc. You can also try to decorate it with your child. It can take you back to your childhood days. Simultaneously, there will be a good father-son bonding.

Large decorative wicker baskets, plastic se-through containers, closets should be created as a matter of storage.

Keep window treatments as simple as possible i.e. shorter curtains are a good choice as they are safer. Long draperies should be avoided.

    It’s worth remembering however, that you’re designing a child’s room – a living, breathing, tantrum-throwing, runny-nosed, crayon-wielding human being’s room – not a showcase.

This will vary according to the age of the occupant, but there’s every reason to expect that the room will get totally thrashed about, messed up, and out of sorts. Those pretty wicker baskets will be overturned, their tidy contents wadded up on the floor. Anything below the 3′ level will absolutely be explored by those curious little fingers. Any kind of lamp that your child can reach is likely to be bashed & broken – ceiling-mounted fixtures are a Godsend!

Have some fun with it and try not to stress out too much when things don’t stay as pristine & pretty as you had envisioned.

Michael, I sure hope you have a day job because seriously. You stink as a writer. Don’t you even bother to check for spelling, punctuation, or grammar before hitting publish? And how about at least *trying* to smoothly transition from one thought to the next rather than looking like you’re doing a poor job channeling James Joyce? There are just so many things wrong in this short piece, I don’t even have the time or energy to hit upon them all. But just for one example:

“Also, the emotional bondage between you and your kid will be amplified.”

Emotional ‘bondage’? That’s just sick and perverted. How ’bout you try emotional bondING instead. A lot less psychological counseling needed later in life for the child, don’t you think.

Like I said. I won’t even get into all the glaring mistakes I see. Instead, I’ll just give you a little hint. Invest in a PROOFREADER! You’ll look a lot less inept at the end of the day.
