Now that’s called luxury and is a perfect post for our Dream Homes section. Dubai’s Damac Properties is targeting the world’s super-rich with a collection of apartments priced at up to $10 million. The exclusive residences will each occupy an entire floor in two of Damac’s landmark skyscrapers: Ocean Heights in Dubai Marina and Lotus Heights in Business Bay. The apartments, known as Signature Residences, will have uninterrupted 360 degree views thanks to their lofty locations from the 67th to 75th floors of the towers. They will each be reached by their own private, voice-activated elevator. All apartments come with a maid’s room, four parking spaces each and every apartment will have its very own swimming pool, personal gymnasium and steam room.

    I am an american living in Dubai for the past 7 years, actualy it is a great city with a vision to the future unlike alot of other countries, although the weather sucks but thats not there fault God made it this way.
    lots of comments are true about living in dubai with shallow people and indians holding hands and more but put in mind that this is a 38 years old country , there is countries thats been around for much more than this and they dont even have 1% of what dubai has.
    I agree there is some rules and regulations needs to be changed but every thing needs time and with the type of rulers there is in Dubai I bit you things will change and will be much better day by day as we see.
    Now about bomers and terrorist people around the world have to change there views of arabs and muslims (put in mind that there is millions and millions of christians that lives in the arab world so can we call them terrorist because they are in an arab world) so its a stereotype issue as I mentioned I been here for 7 years never heared or seen any thing that links to terrorism in any way shape or form.
    The country is very safe at least I can park and leave my car open with the keys in it without worrying that some one will steal it and I cant say that about 90% of the countries in the world.
    Every body that says some thing wrong about Arabs , Arab counntries and muslims you guys should come and visit and then judge for yourselves.
    use your own brains people not because the media says arabs are bad and terrorist that means they are , if you look into other countries there problems through the years are home grown terrorism.
    so guys please judge with your minds dont follow the media like sheeps. thats what they want you to do blind fold your eyes and follow what they say.
    I am not saying that there is no arab terrorism but its limited to some organizations and radicals so dont generalize.if there is one apple thats spoiled it dose not mean that all the apples are bad.
    America and Europe are great nations in there own way and charecter and the arab world has its own way charecter history so we need to respect that, its theres and we cant judge it.

    The good:

    Very Modern in parts
    No income tax
    Dynamic
    Clean – new parts are spotless
    Nice beaches
    Service is high in hotels etc
    Cheap fuel
    Nice buildings
    Restaurants are top notch

    Bad:

    Very hot & humid
    Polluted – never saw a blue sky there
    Shallow
    Not much to do apart from hang about in bars with hookers (theres tons)
    Beer is about 6 Euros a pint lol
    Arabs are ignorant
    Half of it looks like Karachi with Desis wearing cheap robes and flip flops
    Indians holding hands in shopping malls
    Indians and Pakis playing with themselves in public
    Somewhat small
    High rents
    No direct debits

    Wow looks nice but I find it hard to believe that they have their OWN elevator. That would mean 8 more elevators per tower. I could see there being two elevators for 4 apartments maybe. But 8? That’d be ridiculous. Anyway they look really nice.

    I believe Dubai is a great city, just look at the developments they have done in the past few years and wow if I had the money I would be living in those apartments in a heartbeat.

    used to live in Dubai for 12 years. its grown alot since i left in 98. People need to see Dubai on its other side of the rock, not just the rich part. Dubai is also home to about 60 % 3rd class people ( not they’re not even citizen). I used to live in a place called Karama, its not exactly what you see in the photo or on the discovery channel, its home to the slums and ghetto folks, where lights on the hall way do not light up, where the wall, ceiling and floor are smells of leakage and covered with smugged yellow mist. Where the street is a mine field filled with rats, garbage and filth. Yes Karma in very well alive in Dubai along with other project blocks like Rashidiya that the gov neglect to mention in their praise for Dubai. Lets not forget 3ajman, a city close to Dubai where one could swear its a whole different country because if its rugged, poor people whom only deserve more than a helping hand from Dubai

    Dubai is City made for the rich but with a many flaws. they need to get their act together and help out their city neighbours, clean up their street and lower the gap between 1st class and the rising 3rd class. Only then can Dubai be a City worthy of the title ‘City of dreams”

    Stereotyping us is just as bad as us stereotyping you. I’ve been to Dubai, it was very hot, and smoggy. I wouldn’t want to live there, but I wouldn’t want to live in the US either. I’ll take New Zealand for 5,000 Alex. Now that’s a beautiful place.
