This 1,290-square-foot London apartment, situated on two levels in a high-rise contemporary development, features spectacular views of Chelsea and Kensington from the living room windows and balcony. The client wanted an urban oasis with great entertaining spaces as well as a luxurious guest room for friends and family.

In addition to a general facelift, interior design studio Keir Townsend made some alterations to the layout, removing the wall between the kitchen and living room. This opened up the apartment and added the concept of contemporary dining, in which the kitchen becomes an integral part of the entertaining space.

The color palette is composed of rich, dark tones, which look elegant by day and even more so at night, when complemented by mood lighting.

In the master bedroom, oak in a tobacco finish was used for the headboard frame, side tables and wardrobes (which also feature leather detailing). All joinery is bespoke, designed by Keir Townsend’s team.

In the second bedroom, a plethora of colors and textures were layered to create a feeling of warmth. Fabrics include sumptuous De Le Cuona velvet for the headboard, etched silk cushions and Italian cashmere throws. [Information and photos provided by Keir Townsend]
