This family of stools, designed by Giorgio Bonaguro for Icons Furniture, aim at giving a playful interpretation to this particular type of indoor furniture. The collection starts with Alfiere ( the “Bishop” in Italian) which is a stool in solid wood: it features a geometric form, interrupted by a large diagonal cut which acts as a magazine rack; next to it is moving Regina (the “Queen”), with a more “aristocratic” and imposing shape, and Pedone (the “Pawn”), a round and simple stool.

These furniture products have been designed taking inspiration in the game of chess, as the name suggests; they emphasize shapes and characteristics of the chess pieces (especially the heads) that are used in this game. The stools are produced by Icons in solid scented cedarwood with semi-artisan techniques and processes, enhancing the value and finishes.
