Offering a modern vision of a ski getaway, architectural firm East West Real Estate designed Chalet Canelle, located in Kappl, Tyrol, Austria. With its dark exterior color palette, it is no wonder that the building does not betray its resort function. But as you step inside, comfort will show its impersonations at every step: cozy fireplaces, alluring sofas and armchairs, soft-textured rugs… feel free to discover more in the photos below.

According to the architects, “the layout of each apartment was designed to take advantage of the panoramic views. Interiors employ locally sourced materials inspired by the natural surroundings – stone, wood, glass and fur. It was important that all apartments receive their individual identity while preserving the character of the whole building”. How would you comment on the design approach for this Austrian mountain chalet? Do you believe it blends in with the idea of a cozy mountain retreat?
