The Fluxus, a wavering Murano glass sculpture, has been created for the White Gallery ( an impressive lifestyle store dedicated to Fashion, Food, Design, Art and Fragrances ), the new luxury lifestyle store due to open in Rome on the 2nd of December. Fluxus is a suspended and apparently fluid surface, a fabric of hand made glass consisting of a multitude of elements able to generate a new aesthetic expression of motion in space. Fluxus is the result of the cooperation between Artist Michela Vianello, whose inspiration gave concrete shape to the overall concept of the sculpture, and designer Karim Rashid, who designed the individual glass element, the Knit. Fluxus covers a surface area of 60 square meters (= 646 square feet), using 80’000 handmade Knit, in 5 colors; the lighting is provided by 5000 punctiform halogen lamps distributed in a network across the internal surface of the wave. Fluxus is a concept developed by Andromeda International.
