The internet and computing has changed our lives so much so that many of us now spend hours and hours on our computers. We often forget what it is like outside. So why not get a window that looks just like Microsoft Windows, the operating system that most of us use? John Nouanesing, the talented French designer has come up with obviously named Fenestra 3.1 which is no ordinary window. Open or shut, it shows the familiar landscape view of Windows – blue skies and green fields. For his Windows theme update, Nouanesing has naturally promised Fenestra XP.

Fake Window – Bright Blind

Makoto Hirahara’s had a brilliant idea when he invented the Bright Blind a window shade that hangs on your wall and is backlit by electroluminescent sheets to provide simulated daylight in even the darkest of offices. Now with this clever illusion you can have the benefit of a window in the most darkest places. Just like a real window shade, brightness is adjusted by twirling the plastic shade control. The bad news is that this product is just a prototype for now. – Via – Technabob

A Window that Can Both Heat and Cool your Home

ksd window

A few months ago I’ve wrote an article named – Tricks to Keep Your House Cool this Summer and a lot of people commented and liked that article. In this article I’ve presented ways to keep your home cool during the summer but without using an air conditioner. Today I’ve found about a new invention that could be in this article. The Ksd Solar Window from Ecological Innovations is a window that can both heat and cool your home. The KSD-Solar-Diode-Window is the only window construction to address room temperature control and energy saving at the same time in an ingeniously simple way. The innovation is in that center pane. It has heat reflective capabilities, in one direction. Thus, in summer, flip the window with the green side facing out and there is minimal heat gain, reducing the cooling burden. In winter, flip it the other way, and it reduces heat loss (while allowing solar heat gain during the day), reducing the heating load. – Via – Materialicio.us & Leed pro
