By looking at this modular bed design concept designed by Swedish designer Marcia Hanvey Isaksson, I can say that a bed like this should exist in every hotel. The design is basically a double bed that lets you instantly split it into two single beds without having to spend your back for it. Each single bed is attached at the head with a rail in the headboard, so if you want a double bed for you an your partnet or to have more space in your bed just slide the beds apart. Since the headboard also features storage space, this modular bed becomes just the perfect bit of furniture for the kids’ room or even for the guests. - Via - 1, 2

The Swedish Interior Designs are heavily influenced by the light and weather of Scandinavia, because long dreary winters with early dusk and a lack of natural light necessitated rethinking the structure of the interior design. Anything dark, gloomy, and heavy was out while anything pale, light, airy, and minimal was in. Pale walls ( especially white ones ), floors, and furnishings reflected whatever light was available, thus cheering and lightening even the darkest days of winter. Accessories are kept simple and displayed in an uncluttered manner, that offers a fresh and clean look. Swedish style interiors are becoming more and more popular. It’s a look that combines refined elegance with a casual aged appearance that seems to have universal appeal. These beautiful minimalistic interior design pictures are from Åsberg Interiör & Styling ( of course a Swedish website ).

The Plus House is a pre-fab two-storey house with the generic proportions of a traditional Swedish bard house, designed by Swedish architects Claesson Koivisto Rune. Now the most interesting part of the house I think that is this beautiful and simple staircase. Now here are a few words about this project from the Swedish architects website : “Instead of windows positioned like regular “holes” along the walls, entire sides are glazed. On the entrance floor both long walls are glazed. On the upper floor the gable ends are glazed. Seen in plan, these two lines of vision straight through the building are perpendicular like a plus sign.” - Via - David Report
