Ctd 2005 designed these stairs for a client who wanted to combine Shaker and Japanese utility into the space. The owner had both a shaker elemental utility look he wanted and to the Japanese for their use of storage under stairs as part of designing space, and the final result is a very practical use of space that I have to say it looks awesome. This steel sculpture is a wonderful peace of art designed by Olafur Eliasson. This beautiful merging of art and architecture is a 9 meter-high walk-double spiral of steel in the entrance of the KPMG ( a global accounting firm ) office building in Munich, Germany. The stair is called Umschreibung (Rewriting), and was completed in 2004. - Photos by : Christian Beirle
