This beautiful floating staircase designed by Jordi Vayreda and her Spanish design studio Jordivayreda Projectteam is something that you like to see, but just that. Personally I think that these stairs are quite dangerous, especially after I’ve read “The most common causes of death due to injury in the United States” , and found out that in 2000, 1,307 people died falling on and from stairs and steps. The Hanging Stair is a nice looking design by Canadian architects Blencoe Levine Associates that solves the common problem with stair treads when renovating. So I guess that’s pretty convenient when you run into roadblocks in the middle of your house project. Although this is a good use of space, and it’s a modern look, I would question the strength of it over time. I’ve found this interesting rug in Chenhui Su’s portofolio. I like this idea, because this 3D effect create a really good optical illusion. Inspired by the entrance stairs, this piece is intent to be placed in front of doors.
