This beautiful floating staircase designed by Jordi Vayreda and her Spanish design studio Jordivayreda Projectteam is something that you like to see, but just that. Personally I think that these stairs are quite dangerous, especially after I’ve read “The most common causes of death due to injury in the United States” , and found out that in 2000, 1,307 people died falling on and from stairs and steps. Finally what do you think ? Are these stairs something that you’ll want in your house, or you’d rather prefer something traditional and safe. – Via – Neatorama

The Hanging Stair is a nice looking design by Canadian architects Blencoe Levine Associates that solves the common problem with stair treads when renovating. So I guess that’s pretty convenient when you run into roadblocks in the middle of your house project. Although this is a good use of space, and it’s a modern look, I would question the strength of it over time. The pictures are from architectural photographer Ioana Marinescu’s portfolio. – Via – Treehugger

After presenting an amazing collection with 30 of the Most Creative Bookshelves Designs here is today another interesting idea for storing books. The idea is from Adam Jirkal, Jerry Koza and Tomáš Kalhous, three Czech Republic designers that have transformed the stair case to a book case. I’m sure that in small space an innovation like this would be a great space saver. – Via – Treehugger & Archiweb

Between artistic project and design, Stair is a rather astonishing staircase created by Gabriella Gustafson and Mattias Ståhlbom for TAF. I don’t see to much people using this kind of stairs, but is an interesting artistic project. Would you use them ? – Via – TrendShow

I’ve found this interesting rug in Chenhui Su’s portofolio. I like this idea, because this 3D effect create a really good optical illusion. Inspired by the entrance stairs, this piece is intent to be placed in front of doors.
