Can you feel the Spring fever? Surrounded by a lot of green and perfect for a family, Seattle-based architects from SHED managed to come up with a modern house. A dream space that proves unique. Dubbed the Backyard House, it’s an example of practical art with a retro feel. Featuring a white interior with sharp furnishings that stay in contrast with a multitude of textures and colors (the orange is definitely striking), the contemporary feeling is only enhanced by those floor-to-ceiling windows, large spaces and the contemporary furniture. Kudos to SHED for such a structure. – via

Seattle as a city is all about simple style and ever-green romance and the Orcas Residence designed by Pb Elemental Architecture is all about translating that same sense of elegance into a multi-family dwelling. Designed for four families in two floors, each home sports a custom open riser stairs, two master suites with private baths and a roof deck with territorial views. The 1,100 square feet homes radiate with simple and stylish interiors while the minimalistic design runs through the entire structure. The interiors seem to have taken inspiration from retro shades, but even they blend in with the contemporary style quite aptly. Stylish and yet subtle, it keeps in touch with Seattle, don’t you think? – via

With a 3,600 sq. ft surface, there are three bedrooms, a media room, a study room, an open space living-room and three bathrooms. Also interesting is the way they used skylights and windows to light up the whole house, the corners, the crannies or other details like art niches. Makes everything look warm and cozy, don’t you think?
