Hello Down There is a rug that can get a lot of attention, more attention than any rug I’ve saw until now. The Hello Down There uses a photo-satellite of a city to add an urban element inside your home, and it will also give you a feeling that you are somewhere up in the sky, just like a little GOD. If you want to buy this rug you can get it from here for $150. - Via

Global Warming Polar Bear Rug

Share |

Nanimarquina, the Spanish textiles company recently launched this global warming rug for the Valencia International Furniture Fair. The striking design created by the Mexican collective NEL depicts a polar bear stranded on an ice floe in the vast expanse of the Arctic sea. Polar bears as we know are at risk for global warming will melt much of the sea ice they need to get to their hunting areas.

The NEL collective consists of designers Ricardo Casas, Alejandro Castro, Héctor Esrawe, Emiliano Godoy and Cecilia León de la Barra who focus on innovative and thoughtful designs. Rugs have long been used as a cultural record so their polar bear rug sends an important message for our time. Their polar bear rug definitely fits perfectly with Nanimarquina’s new catalogue theme, global warming. – Via

Organic Floral Pattern Rug : Ethereal

Share |

This very interesting and beautiful rug is from Top Floor, a multi-award winning design studio based in London, and it was designed by designed by Esti Barnes. An organic floral pattern reaches into the whitespace on this rug, yet this pattern is more than grooves and layers.  Designer Esti Barnes has cut these layers right through the rug itself, exposing the bare wood below. The hand-tufted Ethereal rug can be ordered by customers in any color or size. – Via – Gearcrave

Contemporary Black Rug by Liset Van der Scheer

Share |

I was totally fascinated by this contemporary black rug designed by Liset Van der Scheer, because combined with a few pieces of black furniture, and a few white chairs you can get an amazing design. The base is made of wool and polyester knots to guarantee a quality surface. The polyester fibre threads are notably very strong. The carpet model allows the hair thread to sway in different directions, giving it a varied appearance in combination with brightness. Finnaly you can get this chic, radiant and strong, hand tufted in a wool and pylyester base rug from Casalis.

The Carpet Sofa

Share |

This sofa that looks like a rug is a great design, and I don’t know how nobody thought at this until now. This design is called East meet West and is designed by Tonio de Roover. The idea behind this “carpet sofa” how I like to call it is pretty simple, a wood and inox support and on top a persian rug. At a first glance the design looks awesome, but I don’t think you could sleep to well on this sofa. – Via – Maad
