For those of you who need an original idea for a home office here is an interesting idea called K Workstation that is designed by a New York design company, MisoSoup Design. This idea is just like a compact office that will save you a lot of space. As you can see, the iMac is totally in his element on the office design, so if you are an Apple fan you might also like this design. – Via

Can you imagine living in the woods in a highly modern home surrounded by green, with a nearby lake, clad in wood and glass? Unless there are bears or wolves, doesn’t it sound relaxing? That’s exactly the case with this private residence in East Hampton, New York, that Murdock Young Architects got the job to redesign. Now everything looks perfect with a great alley that welcomes you in, an amazing swimming pool, eye-catching minimalist furniture and lots of space. An amazing dream home, isn’t it?

What is it that you expect from new residences or from newly built hotels? High class, isn’t it? Well, in Downtown New York on 123 Washington Street, a 57-storey tower designed by Gwathmey Siegel Architects is going to be built and should most likely meet the above criteria. Dubbed the W Hotel & Residences and with the help of interior designers from GRAFT, the hotel rooms and the flats are really astonishing. With Great large windows that offer great views over the city, extremely modern furniture and top notch furnishings. I just can’t choose the best picture of the ones you’ll see below, but that’d definitely be the apartment of my dreams if I were to buy one. Wonder what the prices will be over there. Expensive, huh? – via Contemporist

A few months ago we presented an interesting project called the Rainbow Bookshelf, a beautiful example of organizing books by color. Today here is another interesting way to play with colors created by Jim Lambie. Jim Lambie, a Scottish artist, is best known for his striped vinyl floor pieces, which have covered the floors and stairs of multiple gallery and museum spaces in the United States and Europe. The artist meticulously adheres vinyl tape to the floor in a geometric pattern that responds to the building’s architecture. The project presented in this post is called “ZOBOP!” and is a dizzying installation of meandering parallel strips of colored tape laid on the lobby floor and up some stairs of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Today while I was surfing on Flickr I’ve found a set of pictures by an user called Jwilly’s entitled “Rich People Rooftops NYC”. The collection of pictures shows us rooftop gardens over the penthouses of New York, but is also a good example of what happends when you live in a big city. Not enough green so you make up for it by having potted plants all over the place. These little small places full of plants look great but I still preffer a real backyard. You can see more & bigger images with rooftop gardens from New York, by visiting Jwilly’s photo stream on Flickr.
