Plinth Bath by Hugh Thomas

Share |

Designed by Hugh Thomas the Plinth Bath exudes humble sophistication with its minimalist styling and emphasis on subtle detailing. The plinth base may also act as an easy access storage unit for optional water jet pumps and its finish can be matched to suit a variety of bathrooms. Through its cantilever construction the Plinth base may also be used as a step to enable safe and effortless entry into the bath whilst giving the bather a ledge to place their accessories whilst they bathe.

Facade Vase – Transform a Watter Bottle into a Vase

Share |

The Facade Vase is a really neat design from Orcadesign. The Facade Vase is actually a wool slip-on cover that lets you turn an unwanted plastic bottle into a minimalist vase. There’s plenty of fancy vases out there, but for those who like to recycle and reuse some products the Facade Vase allows you to reuse your lousy plastic water bottles as something more delicate and pretty. The idea is simple and looks good, now let’s hope that this wool cover would fit on many bottle designs. – Via – Gizmodo & Dvice

Inflatable Japanese Teahouse

Share |

Japanese Tea Houses are among the most beautiful and serene structures on the planet, and are usually minimalist in design and modest in size. This inflatable Japanese teahouse, designed by Kengo Kuma, was created for an exhibit at the Museum für Angewandte Kunst Frankfurt. At a first glance you don’t even know that is a house I thought that is a inflatable balloon, and maybe discotheque, but not a japanese tea house. Normally this type of structure does not make it past the drawing board, but the Japanese have more guts then we do when it comes to architecture. I don’t know why they wanted to build this house because is just a waste or material, time and money.

Japanese Tea House

The teahouse does not rise up from the ground as a fixed wooden construction, but unfolds as an airborne form. When a ventilation system is activated, the teahouse swells into shape like a white high-tech textile blossom. In its interior, comprising a surface of approximately twenty square metres, are nine tatami mats, an electric stove for the water kettle, a tokonoma niche and a preparation room. Integrated LED technology allows the use of the teahouse at night; the interior can be heated by way of the membrane. Finnaly ..one questions for my readers ..when you saw this house what did you think it was ? – Via – Dvice & Slipperybrick

This piece of bathroom furniture is inspired from the beautiful sea shells, and is called Piude. The Piudue bowl welcomes and mostly enjoys the water. Pinudue is made up of the perfect fusion of horizontal and vertical axes, minimalist forms of the interlocking modules convey a sense of rhythm and equlibrium. Soft natural colors embrace the user as in a cocoon. The 160 cm washbasin unit has two drawers. Its 45 degree angled doors provide an excellent body fit and matt satin chrome handles highlight the form. The 160 cm mirror is an integral part of the design and it has built in pole for mounting the towel rack. Built around horizontal and vertical axes, Piude’s modules emphasize the perfect symmetry and balance of the “plus” sign. The end result is a design that offers personalized, flexible solutions, addressing all your needs in the bathroom space. – Via – Incimutlu
