For all those that love skiing and usually do it during the winter season, the Whistler Cay Residence in British Columbia, Canada, is a great inspiration for you. Though it has a contemporary look on the outside, the guys at a|k|a architecture designed a stunning interior, modern and simple at the same time, promoting open space (it’s a trend these days). A lovely fireplace, a stylish kitchen, large windows that offer awesome views over the nearby mountain/forest, massive beautiful stairs and a very comfortable bathtub, are just a few things that will charm you at the Whistler Cay Residence. - via Contemporist

For those wooden furnishings fans out there, I have something for you. The Ocho House in the Santa Lucia Mountains, California, doesn’t look like a lodge but thanks to its extremely cozy arrangements it does make you feel like living in one. The interior seems large because of the large windows and the tall ceilings, but comfortable at the same time thanks to the materials and colors used : butter beige, white, natural wood, dark brown and black.

What I like most? The wooden staircases, the huge door and the living room view down the valley. You?
But more than the wooden inspiration this is a highly sustainable house that uses overhanging green walls and a smart solar roof. That’s the reason it got the green Energy and Sustainability Honor award from the American Institute of Architects. - via decojournal

Lodge is a modular bookcase that obtains a high degree of personalization, since it is formed from blocks of equal height that allow a free composition. At this modular bookcase it is possible to enlarge the height of the bookcase from new modules as more space is needed for storage. It presents/displays different compartments, suitable as much for books as for complements and decorativas pieces. In addition, it is possible to be used like separator of spaces, since it comes reinforced by an outer frame that surrounds it. - Via - Decoestilo
