The benches are water resistant and rugged so they can be used outside in parks, patios and gardens. They could eliminate the need for additional lighting and provide lovely focal areas amongst the foliage and along footpaths at night. They are easy to clean too for the bench surface has been specially treated. Their low wattage requirements (95 watts) make them environmentally friendly too – you’ve got to like that! These illuminated benches were designed by Lutz Hopbach (Germany) and can be purchased from Frellstedt (Germany).

Customized Lights to Decorate Your Home

Jon Heller from Happycatlights sent me an email to present his little personalized lamps business that he and his wife started. Happycatlights produces desk lamps that are 8×8x4 light boxes, made of a sturdy white plastic that gives off a warm glow from the bulb inside. What makes these lamps unique is the hand-carved design on the front, which is chosen by you. Now if you want a personalized lamp you just send a picture of a design you would like for your lamp, and they will give you a quote for how much the design will cost. After that if you order, they then hand-carve the design into a hard stock paper of your choosing – they have a selection of solid and patterned paper for you to choose from. The design is then placed on the front of the lamp, and covered with a transparent plastic faceplate to give it a finished look. Most people like to buy this kind of personalized lamps as gifts, as they are hand made and completely unique. Others have used them to decorate their living rooms or personalize their workspace. The lamps start at $45, and you can have your unique lamp with your own design just like in these pictures below.

Sticky Lights

Sticky Lights are light bulbs in a transparent plastic case, that you can stick on a wall, piece of furniture, or anywhere else. The Sticky Lights are designed by Chris Kabel for Droog Design. This might be an interesting idea if you want to add some light on your wall, but if you want a good source of light in your room you should try something else, plus there are to many light bulbs and the energy consumption can be a little bit high. The Sticky Lights can be purchased from here for €20. – Via – Geeklogie

Multicolor Walls Using Lights

Last month I’ve wrote an article that had a huge success and received a lot of comments. That article was Room Color and How it Affects your Mood, if you didn’t saw him until now you should take a look, because you can learn a lot of useful stuff from this article. Now starting from this article Duravit came with an interesting idea, to create individual light effects with the help of adjustable lighting on the mirror. As you know the room color can affect you mood, and these lights can change the atmosphere in a second, just by changing the light.

The collection, e-mood, was the innovation of Munich’s Andreas Struppler, who is known for his ability to combine technology and innovation. Here, e-lights (and mirrors) combine with both ambient and LED lights; Controllers are tucked neatly within shelves; and, communication between them all is by wireless. Forget needing a remote control (and needing to locate it) — just simply touch a light — and all will respond.
