Nora House

This house ( Nora House ) is designed by Than & Videgard Hansson Arkitekter looks like a gray cubic box with a few small windows here and here. The interiors are beautiful, clean and spacious were light flows. The bad part of the house might be the space that doesn’t get to much light, because there are just a few windows. Construction is in situ cast concrete. Facades are rendered in plaster colored dark greyish blue. Protruding window boxes made of oak add a 3-dimensional quality to the facade, thus enhancing the depth and massive character of the interior. All glass panes are fixed, with wooden side vents and doors. – Via – Coolboom

Residential House for S & P

The Residential House for S & P is an awesome project by australian based Architect, Bligh Voller Nield. This residential project was completed in 2003, sited in the centre of a corner block, and it the owners are a professional couple, he is a sailor and she is a gardener. The house design has been influenced by the desire for it to be both garden pavilion and boat house.

Beautiful House

The house is sited in the centre of a corner block. It is generally one room wide, and “Z” shaped in plan to take advantage of the views. Upper level bedrooms similarly enjoy both prospects. A painted “fibro” box containing bedrooms at the upper level offers protection to lower level indoor and outdoor living spaces. Conventional domestic construction is manipulated for an elegant expression including a folded, floating wall with adjustable vertical louvers for western sun screening.

Modular Timber Extension – The Salt House

After we just presented and interesting way to Add an Additional Room To Your Apartment today here is another interesting alternative, but this time to add an additional space to your house. London based architectural practice Turner Castle has unveiled a unique extension and remodeling of a 1950s end-terrace house in South London, referred to for its unusual use of timber cladding as the Slat House. The modular timber extension wraps around the house and peeps through the adjacent trees of the rear garden and provides access onto the side terrace.

Salt House

The driving design concept was the extension as a lightweight ‘box’. Timber cladding was specified as a practical necessity to reduce the load of the building on its new foundations, but also for aesthetic purposes, to harmonize the extension with its wooden surroundings. The width of the red cedar panels defined a module by which all window and door openings were determined. This rigor adds to the strong exterior appearance of the building. Large windows are situated at both ends of the building, visually connecting the new building to the garden. – Via – Coolboom

Victorian House – Lordship Park

These images are from Lordship Park an unusually large Victorian house spread over four distinctly styled floors. From the four floors the lower ground floor got my attention. This floor is a 60’s futuristic – white, light, cavernous space, sophisticated, cool, with a disco vibe. The most interesting an worth noticing part of this house are the rounded corners that look awesome and the idea is quite unique, because you don’t see everyday something like this. The other floors of this Victorian house are : the ground floor is French grandeur, the first floor has a feminine feel – light and airy interconnecting rooms with French doors to a pretty roof terrace, and the top floor has a groovy 70s vibe, and you can see pictures with the other floors here. – Via – desiretoinspire
