Casa Aquino by Augusto Fernandez Mas

Share |

This amazing house located in Morelos, Mexico is called “Casa Aquino” and it was designed by Augusto Fernandez Mas (K+A Diseño). Architect Augusto Fernandez Mas’ emphasis on wood and stone helps blend the house in with its natural surroundings. This single-family residence is located on a steeped lot in front of federal government lands and aside a river; it entailed a series of building and environmental restrictions. The sloped terrain made retaining walls necessary, as well as a drainage system to channel large amounts of rainwater. The house is configured by orthogonal shapes and materials such as wood, stone and metal without artificial claddings. It stands with no protagonism against the rich and abundant surroundings. Finally the most beautiful part of the house is the small pool of stone and its red cedar surrounding pavement that stands as the most intimate space concealed between the house and one of the perimeter retaining walls. – Via

House with Great Views in Minami Boso

Share |

This beautiful house, located in Minami-Boso, Chiba (Japan), is the work of  Kiyonobu Nakagame & Associates. The villa was designed for the clients who live in Tokyo, and is located at about 2 hours from Tokyo in Boso Peninsula east of Tokyo. The design is characterized by clean lines, and a lot of wide space, and to make things even more interesting the site is facing the pacific ocean while having mountains as a background. Being surrounded by the natural landscape, and the great views of the site this place is like a piece of paradise, a great place for relaxation and meditation. And if you don’t believe me, just scroll down and try to imagine yourself in the last picture. – Via

Great Small House/Apartment Entrance Idea

Share |

While I was checking my RSS reader today I’ve found this interesting idea for a small house entrance on Swissmiss. I love the idea, and I think that I’m going to implement it in my small apartment, especially how the shoes are stored is a great space saver. The materials used are ash and plain steel. The ash has been bleached and then custom finished.
