Sculptural furniture with its shapely forms can become voluptuous additions to your decor. The full-bodied approach to such furniture can best be seen by the work of John-Paul Melia and Lucy Tatam, who are the designers behind MeliaDesignUK. They work primarily from man-made boards and a range of real wood veneers, some of which are new and exotic. Each handmade design is finished with either a luxurious high-gloss polished lacquer or with a semi-matte laminate. The i.drawers sideboard or chest of drawers suits contemporary living spaces. Its three runnerless drawers glide out with the help of chromed air vents at the back of each drawer which release the vacuum. Colour choices are offered for this $5,995 sideboard.

The award winning Macassar Ebony real wood veneer coffee table is a bentwood luxury for $5,995. This handmade curvaceous beauty was meticulously finished with 10 coats of tough lacquer with sanding between coats - much the same way prestige cars are pimped. Fine sanding with five grades of sandpaper followed the last coat and then the final polish for a glass like sheen. The same finishing technique was also applied for the funky and cool looking luna drawers available in either dark wood or pale colours. This two drawer piece retails for $4,895. - Via

Babycake is a design by Karim Rashid for Tonelli of Italy , a great combination between wall mirrors and storage space. The two containers are hidden and if we look at the overall design I can say that this design is better this way. You can save some space, and have only a mirror with these places for storage that will look better than a mirror with separate drawers. Dimensions: 90 x 20 x 180 cm; Thickness: 5 mm; Capacity: 50 kg; Weight: 88 kg. Price: $2,000. If you want to buy on the product is available: Here. - Via

This idea looks nice, but is not something new, we presented some time ago a similar piece ( Chest of Drawers ), that was made from of discarded drawers, found and rescued at flea markets. Drawerment is a composition of drawers collected from old office furniture. The Drawerment is the creation of Czech designer Jaroslav Jurica of the Hubero Kororo Design Group and it was designed for the Dutch design house, Demakersvan for their renovated studio in Rotterdam. Jurica designed this to celebrate “the 15th anniversary of Tejo Remy’s chest of drawers for Droog Design called “You Can’t Lay Down Your Memory”. The idea as I’ve said is not new, but is another example of have we can use recycled pieces of furniture, to make something unique. - Via

Fractal 23 is a very creative piece of furniture designed by Takeshi Miyakawa. I must admit that I’ve never saw a piece of furniture like this before. The design, by Takeshi Miyakawa is made to make the maximum use of space and 23 different sizes of drawers certainly do that for you. Finally I don’t think that the Fractal 23 is a practical piece of furniture, rather an interesting piece of art that can make your friends say “Wooow“. - Via - Core77

Chest of drawers is made out of discarded drawers, found and rescued at flea markets. A mix of different styles from earlier decades, with woods and knobs of various kinds, in a single piece of furniture. The old drawers are enhanced by the new frame in white lacquered MDF. In conclusion if you want a really unique piece of furniture you can start searching for old drawers, and come up with your own mix of styles. This one can be bough from here.
