I have seen LCD television sets spring to life from underneath beds and even beds fold up themselves into walls, but this is the first time we are witnessing a dining table get folded up into a closet. Designed by James Plant Design, it can b put up and folded into a closet at the blink of an eyelid and there is absolutely no assembly required. It is simple to use and is great for all those who are struggling for space. Even if you have space, pulling a dining table from a closet is still really cool. Trendy, simple, ergonomic and very unique; this is one idea we hope will surely catch on in a world where space is becoming a premium. - via

Designed by Brian Lee, the Chubby Brothers dining table is a piece of furniture that can appear as solid object, until the chairs are removed. The Chubby Brothers dining table features Leaf spring seats on each of the four chairs. And once the chairs are pulled out, the table itself breaks down into six parts so that it might fit easily through doors. Brian Lee designed the dining suite with the idea that it would, “allow the audience to gain a different perspective as an unrecognizable object when put together.”

The Poggenpohl adjustable dining table is designed by Draenert and is made of natural stone or MDF-veneer. Unlike other expandable dining tables, which tend to offer standard flaps on either side, the Poggenpohl pulls apart from the middle. This feature greatly increases the surface area of the table whilst also providing a view of interesting design elements, and can be achieved manually or by an optional whisper-quiet motor. Inside, it presents a multiple function area with stainless steel plates, cutlery box or cutting board, which can be arranged in many ways. Two trolleys fit exactly into the open areas at the two ends. The lacquered trolley is made from steel and wood matching the dining table, which can be pushed into the open areas at the front ends of the dining table. It offers additional comfort, like toaster, trays or champagne cooler, which forms the interface between the kitchen and the dining place and thus transforms it to a completely new function. - Via - Decoluxe

The Calume Table is a piece of extensible furniture. The graceful Calum displays a unique charm and features an integrated extension mechanism, which allows it to take two different forms depending on the need of the situation, round and oval. The table Calum has 130 cm in diameter when is not open, but the extension mechanism allows for a 50 cm extension and transforms the table top from circular to an oval shape. The base is made from stainless steel and has a height of 75 cm. I’m pretty sure that this table when open could be very easy be used as a dining table. - Via - Hometone
