This piece of furniture was created by Claudio Colucci for a a Swiss ice cream manufacturer. Claudio’s objective was to create a chair that would enhance a person’s experience while eating ice cream. The lounge also contains an in-built music system that allows connoisseurs to enjoy their fav tunes along with the sugary delights as well as the benefits of Chromotherapy.The final result is called the “Ice Lounge” that you see in the picture. This chair is rather a cool concept proposed by the Portuguese designer Alessandro Bêda, we presented another interesting concept made by him a week ago ( Two-piece Flower Vase in the Shape of a Whale ). He called this chair “Untitled Chair“, and it seems that he’s not very good at coming up with names for his designs. I would like to name this chair “Perfect Shape” because design features 100 gas shock absorbers that enable the chair to adjust to pressure and change its shape to accommodate the person or object placed on it. The measurements of the chair are exactly the same of the LC2 Petit Comfort by Le Corbusier. Until now this chair is just a concept, but designer Alessandro Bêda told on his website that he’ll start working on a prototype soon, though he ponders if his concept is really doable. – Via

The Perspective Chair is designed by Pharrell Williams in collaboration with furniture designer Domeau & Pérès. The Perspective chair will be shown in Paris at the prestigious Emmanuel Perrotin Galerie from October 21st 2008 until January 10th 2009. The chair will be available in four colors and only 4 units of each will be sold. Now this is a piece of furniture in limited edition, and if they’ll sell only 4 pieces just try to imagine the price. Finally the inspiration behind the design of the Perspective Chair was the relationship between a man and a woman, and here is what Pharrell has to say about this : “I had often wondered what it’s like to truly be in love, not lust for once.. So I decided not to ask what it was like in someone else’s shoes or what it was like to sit in their seat.. I decided to sketch out my own experiment; the perspective chair.” – Via
