Leschi Dearborn House is a contemporary home design recently completed by JW Architects in Seattle, Wash. Northwest native cedar envelops the 3,127-square-foot residence, reducing its scale and adding a calming visual effect. Massive windows allow natural lighting inside while opening the interiors to the views.

According to the architects, “The deck extends across the entirety of the roof and provides sweeping views of Lake Washington and both Mount Rainier and Mount Baker.” It is here that the design team staged a comfortable lounge area, perfect for contemplating sunny afternoons.

The social core of this modern Seattle home is an open-plan living and dining area, enriched with wooden accents. It is a cozy gathering place, with unobstructed views of the lake. Stylish, personal and uncluttered, this interior offers secluded corners for personal retreat as well as opportunities for spending family time.

The master bedroom is particularly inviting; surrounded by windows, it allows stargazing from the bed. Enjoy the photo gallery, and feel free to share your thoughts on this contemporary home. [Photography by Lara Swimmer]
