Have you ever had the feeling that somebody is watching you? Well, you can definitely get that feeling with these lamps by a French Design Group called 5.5 Designers. These designers are into object cloning which to no one’s surprise was inspired by medical cloning technology. They offer a custom lamp service where they make eyeball lamps based on YOUR eyes. Yes, they clone your eyes! Or to put it in medical terms, you become the “donor”.
What you have to do is fill in a form which is available on their website, indicate which is the predominant eye color and submit a close-up picture of your or someone else’s eyes. The lamps which mirror your eyes are then made to order by glassblower, Livio Serena. The lamps will watch over you or watch over somebody else’s shoulders and totally creep them out! - Via

There are portable toilets and portable cabins. Now there is the portable kitchen and bathroom called the Woonbox. The Woonbox is a compact wonder. It is a large box which when opened up somewhat like a book will reveal a shower and toilet on one side and a kitchen complete with two cooking rings and sink on the other. Additional parts like the kitchen cabinet cover hinges open to provide additional counterspace. The Woonbox is fully mobile and mechanized.
The Woonbox was conceived by architects Arthur Rottier and Peter Jongman from the Dutch architectural firm, KAW. The designers created it as a temporary solution for use in diverse situations. In offices, for large events perhaps even for displaced or disadvantaged people. Anywhere really where people could benefit from the comforts of home delivered by this mobile all-in-one kitchen and bathroom box.

A few days ago I’ve received an email from a reader called Marko, and the email said :
Thank you for this so nice blog! Just one small suggestion, I am sure it’s nothing original, yet why don’t you put those buttons that enable us viewers to share content of your blog on sites like Facebook, Myspace and similar? Few times I wanted to post something I saw here on Facebook, but there just was no such option…
Keep up this good work anyway!
Until I’ve got this email I’ve never thought that people want to share things from my blog on social web communities like Facebook, Myspace, etc … but after I’ve got this email I’ve said to myself to add an option that will let share the content from this blog with their friends. Now as you can see in the screenshot attached below at the end of every post you have a “Share This!” button that will allow you to share something you like with your friends. ( ShareThis allows you to easily share to any of your friends by importing your contacts from Gmail, Yahoo, Facebook, MySpace, AIM, Outlook, and more. )Finally I would like to ask people if they find this new option useful, and tell me in a comment what they think about this ..

Plano is the name of this whimsical wall seating design developed and produced by Dutch designer, Egbert-Jan Trijnis Lam through his company Burojet.com. His collection of unusual seating is his version of “flat” furniture - so not IKEA! He describes his design as ART vs DESIGN which implies that he is trying to combine form with function.
Plano is actually a collection of wall paintings with integrated seats. The chairs and tables are hinged and can either be pushed into the wall to form part of the painting or let down and secured with hinged panels. This is a great space-saving design that also incorporates something pleasing to look at. The Plano designs range from an ornate sofa to more contemporary designs and colours. - Via

Dimension Flooring by Alistair Bramley uses a radically different design concept to achieve the final effect of what looks like contour lines on laminate flooring. The designer did not create the design himself in the traditional sense but he conceived the idea of letting the traffic flow of a particular space dictate the placement of the lines. Video footage of how people use living spaces were first taken and then processed to obtain the abstract pattern which can then be printed onto the flooring material.

Dimension is possible because of the digital printing processes available today for flooring manufacture. This allows designers like Bramley complete flexibility in design. He is able to explore designing not just for particular clients but how they use their living space. It becomes a much more personal environment for them. This is custom design at a totally different level. - Via
