Tom Spina Designs created this custom Star Wars inspired desk for the studio office of Mark Hall, from the Grammy award-winning group Casting Crowns. Underneath the 1/2″ thick glass table top, a carved Han Solo emerges from below. Metal and fiberglass construction with a heavy glass top create an elegant and extremely unique piece of furniture. I’m not sure how many people will actually want a desk table that might be a little bit scarry, but finnaly is an unique piece, not with to much style but with attitudine. - Via - Geeklogie

For those of you wanting to bring that graphic touch outdoors, this collection of art textiles, waterproof cushions and stickers is just the thing. The textiles make great hangings, add color and a modern touch to even the smallest balcony. Create a focal point on a bare wall, add color to a shady corner, or hang them indoors from a high ceiling and let the light shine through. Light weight transparent, made to measure and machine washable. If you’ve got some glass to cover try the stickers, a great alternative to boring curtains and a cool graphic touch for your terrace. Pull the whole look together with some waterproof cushions that definitely leave boring beige behind. - Via - Dgardencollection

More and more people are going green with their homes, there is growing interest in environmentally friendly sustainable products, such as renewable material countertops and flooring in kitchens, and water-saving toilets and LED lighting in bathrooms. Every quarter the American Institute of Architects updates its Home Design Trends survey and the fourth quarter dramatically shows the effects of the housing slowdown. But it also shows some other very positive trends: people are beginning to think about sustainability and accessibility instead of having duplicate appliances or hot towel drawers. Here are a few graphs provided by American Institute of Architects from where you can see the trends., and maybe get a business idea.
