German Furniture maker Hülsta has unveiled some really stunning living room ideas that can be adopted by the style-conscious people who want to give their home an ergonomic and futuristic look. The seamless blend of the slim design with bold black and bright red colors gives the entire set up a very refreshing, yet a space-age look. Leather has been added for an authentic and regal touch with a minimalist effect adding to the ‘cool factor’. You can either go for that all-black metallic look or judiciously throw in the reds and whites while still maintaining the class and elegance. Take your pick!

The Tibetan knot is an endless one, without beginning or end. It is an ancient motif found not only in Tibet but Mongolia and China. It symbolises the eternal interweaving of the Spiritual Path. Designer Richard X Zawitz based his stunning new collection on the Tibetan knot. His three pieces (two chairs and a light) entitled Art, Sky and Sun show his innovative integrated approach. He said, “I finally see the first true marriage between sculpture with furniture and lighting.”
The pieces consist of stainless steel sections linked together seamlessly. The collection was launched earlier this year at the Salone D’ Mobili show in Milano, Italy but it will not be available until the spring of 2009. – Via

The only things I need to buy in my apartment are the draperies and a new sofa. You can’t imagine how time consuming that is (unless you had to do it, too) with all those models up there, if you’re a picky customer like me. But things may change today, because I’ve just seen the Rolf Benz VERO sofas and at least a couple of them would blend in perfectly with my living-room.
From what I see these guys have the experience to build long-lasting modern sofas that offer a highly comfortable seating experience and first-class quality. Secondly most important for a sofa, after the design, is how practical it is. Well the new Rolf Benz VERO was designed for everyday use, and that says it all.
It’s an 116cm wide and 170cm long sofa, with a luxurious touch and if the leather is not for me, the textile Rolf Benz VERO sofa is exactly what I need at the moment. Just need to see if these guys ship overseas. Will keep you posted. – via Shearydi
