The kitchen is designed in typical Italian style with plenty of bright shades, lots of glossy finishes and yet very modern and minimalistic approach towards the shelves and the space available. Despite its bright appearance, it is highly organized, can be altered to suit various needs and from what we understand, you can have your picnic lunch in it by just changing the flooring for the occasion! When is a cooker hood not a cooker hood? When it is an Elica OM. The sleek Italian design bears no resemblance to the typical extractor fan models. It looks like a wall mounted flat panel TV or even a funky piece of art! The fan itself is located in the round part which can be pushed in when it is not in use to maintain a flush appearance.
The Elica Om is not just stylish and trendy but works quietly and efficiently. It “features Perimeter Aspiration, which directs the airflow across the entire surface of the hood, thus increasing the effective extraction area.“ That’s a good thing. When thinking how the future will be, I don’t include kitchen designs or kitchen utensils in the big picture, but now that I see the Brandt Aion, I think I should have. A result of Antoine Lebrun’s work, the multi functional kitchen designed for Fagor Brandt is intended for small places and should go along with the lines and curves of our homes in just 10 years.
From what I see, the appliance is going to be a green space in your flat by using plants to improve the quality of life, filtering water and air. Lift the upper part and there’s a cooking surface and a sink. Close it down and the system will start the dish washing process, using vegetable soap (which also provided by the plants).
