Here is a FRESH design from a FRESH mind, something like you’ve never saw before. Industrial designer Alessandro Bêda, from Portugal had a very interesting idea, when he designed this two-piece flower vase in the shape of a whale. The flowers, placed in the whale’s ‘blow hole’, are like a colorful burst of water spray. Bêda’s vase is still in the concept phase, but he is looking to have it produced and on the market. I hope that he will get lucky and find someone that will help him produce this vase, because the design looks very good, and would be great in any modern home. – Via

This idea looks nice, but is not something new, we presented some time ago a similar piece ( Chest of Drawers ), that was made from of discarded drawers, found and rescued at flea markets. Drawerment is a composition of drawers collected from old office furniture. The Drawerment is the creation of Czech designer Jaroslav Jurica of the Hubero Kororo Design Group and it was designed for the Dutch design house, Demakersvan for their renovated studio in Rotterdam. Jurica designed this to celebrate “the 15th anniversary of Tejo Remy’s chest of drawers for Droog Design called “You Can’t Lay Down Your Memory”. The idea as I’ve said is not new, but is another example of have we can use recycled pieces of furniture, to make something unique. – Via

Wired’s Nicole Martinelli ( Italian correspondent ) spotted this iCoffee table last week in the lobby of Milan’s Nhow design hotel. I expected to see at least one product inspired by the well known Ipod, and here it is one, and it looks as good as the Ipod, simple and sleek. – Via

I’m pretty sure that most people don’t have apartments large enough so they can have their own gym at home. Now a solution for having a “little gym” in your home come from Postfossil that has a new line called Sports Furniture that looks promising. The sports furniture collection is primarily intended to maintain physical fitness at home but is at the same time a furniture collection that easily blends into the living space. The collection consists of a pull-up-bar, mat, bench, skipping rope and a cup. The bench is a stylish wood bench with storage for other equipment and sturdy enough to workout on. The pull-up bar looks like a piece of sculpture, I mean it’s not hard to look at and more attractive than those doorway mounted pull-up bars. – Via

Since electricity is present in almost any home, the candle holders industry declined, but they are still good for decoration, or to create a romantic atmosphere. For today here it is a series of masculine candle holders, called Light Plumbing. With Light Plumbing, Claus Bjerre has taken what is normally a very feminine object and turned it masculine. The candle holders are made in galvanized iron pipe and fittings commonly used in plumbing. The candle holders, which are a mix of craft and industrial design, have a powerful expression and reflect both masculinity and humor. – Via
