Chair made from Sponges by Marcella Foschi

Share |

The designer Marcella Foschi participated in the workshop of the Campana brothers in Milan sponsored by 3M and developed this chair made from sponges. The final design is not such a big deal, and I’m pretty sure that a lot of people could make something like this, but …it has something interesting, and I can imagine a lot of creative products for home based on this simple idea. – Via

Sausage Link Chair – Bulldang by Hirohiko Kamiya

Share |

If you’re the sort who likes to plump up your cushions before you sit down, then this tube chair is just for you! The nine-metre or 30 foot stuffed tube called the Bulldang or Buldang was designed to look like the bangers on your dinner plate, links and all! Hirohiko Kamiya is the designer who created this destructured modular armchair sofa which allows the user to coil the tube into a variety of seating arrangements. The tube configuration allows maximum flexibility when trying to get the most comfortable padded support to sink into after a hard day’s work.

Using several tubes will provide an infinite number of spatial layouts. These tube chairs are made from “Climate Control” cloth from the Dupont Neotis Studio and were part of a collaboration with Dupont de Nemours. The knitted construction provides breathability and the fabric is elastic and durable as well. What is the price for customizable comfort? $2380 each from here.Via

Bicycle Trailers on Loan at IKEA

Share |

IKEA of Denmark is now starting a new concept at their Danish stores. After they made a survey and found that 20 percent of its customers arrived by bike, the IKEA outside of Copenhagen has hooked up with the Danish Freetrailer service to offer (relatively free) Velorbis bikes with trailers to customers. IKEA has invested in Velorbis bikes, at a couple of their stores, that will pull trailers so that customers can ride home with the new purchases.

To borrow a bike and trailer bike users must put down a deposit of about U.S. 100 and can then choose to pay for a seven dollar insurance policy for each loan or be liable for the larger amount in costs if the bike is damaged or stolen. A bike with trailer can be loaned for more than one day to give you time to return it. I really like this idea, because with this simple move IKEA shows that they cares about their customers and also about the environment. – Via

Hide Your Valuable Stuff with Air Vent Secret Compartment

Share |

The Air Vent Secret Compartment is supposed to be a hidden place where you can hide your stuff. You can hide stuff under your mattress or behind various other things that a thief would want to steal, but that’s pretty unorganized. What if you could hide your valuables inside of something that’s so common, that it’s completely out of sight? With approximately one trillion air vents in the U.S. alone, the chances of a thief discovering your air vent safe are extremely minimal ( of course if he doesn’t already ready Freshome and saw this post ). To install it, just cut out a section of drywall, and put in the compartment fastening it with screws. It opens with a mechanism that is hidden in the grill and no one will see your stuff thanks to a black divider. Is not to safe, but is very well hidden you have to admit. Price : $260

I see a lot of people who wear Louis Vuitton shoes, handbags, wallets, clothes, etc ..and they feel extremely proud by wearing them. Now today I’ve found something that I can say that is extremely ridiculous – Louis Vuitton Trash Bags …what’s next ? Gucci toilet paper !? It seems they will put Louis Vuitton logos on anything these day. Anyway the Louis Vuitton Trash Bag is the dumbest thing i have seen in awhile, and I hope people don’t waste their hard earned money on these, because that’s exactly how you throw money away.
