Earlier this month I’ve presented the Vitamin I.V. Plant Pot an interesting and good looking self watering plant pot. Today I’ve discovered something more extreme, a very geeky and sophisticated plant pot named Pet Plant and designed by Junyi Heo. This plant pot is for those of you who are so busy that they might need a reminder to keep their plants alive. In a few words this concept plants pot shows us how the plants truly feel. The very sleek looking pot measures soil conditions, temperature, humidity, and water calculates those variables based on the need of said plant, and expresses its condition via a series of pictograms on an LCD display. The plant pot will be able to download via an USB interface from a computer all the information about a rose, herb, …whatever, and tell you exactly what the plant needs. Finally the design looks cute, but if every single thing from our house will be depended on electricity our planet, and budget will have to suffer a lot. - Via

Technology in these days changes everything, even faster that we can imagine. For example a new amazing technology has the potential to turn just about any surface, including your walls, into a speaker. Johns Hopkins materials scientist Michaely Yu and his team have made a rubbery plastic-based material that could help place piezoelectric devices in previously impractical areas, including your walls. Personally I can’t even imagine how this technology can work, but for those of you who want to know more about this new technology you can take a look at the patent application of this new technology. - Via 1, 2

I like to play Ping Pong, and I remember that a few years ago I’ve spent a lot of time playing Ping Pong every day. Today someone thought to gather a lot of table tennis balls, and create a product. Designer Diaz Kleefstra took 315 standard 40 mm celluloid table tennis balls and created a lamp, that as been named after the famous dutch table tennis player Bettine Vriesekoop. For those of you who want this handmade lamp you can get it from here for € 394,95. - Via

After I’ve presented the Beautiful Colors Wall Clock a few days ago today I’ve discovered another simple wall clock with a modern design. The Font Clock is a 21st century take on the British 24 hour clock design icon. Twelve different fonts are printed within the mechanism of the clock providing a random, mixed display of graphic language within a single time piece. Font clock is offered in three different sizes, as you can see in the picture attached below. The clock is quite expensive, but for those of you who are interested you can get one from here.
