Inspired from world’s debates on GMO products and eco-crisis on earth, ‘Nature v2.01’ explores today’s struggling human relationship with nature and our desire for authenticity. The pieces, which feature ash bark formed over timber and resin, are based on the notion that if trees had square trunks, less wood would be wasted. I know that these pieces look like they were grown in somebody’s backyard rather than manufactured in a design studio, but the final result look quite interesting. The designs were presented at 100% Design London and they are created by Belgium-based designers from Draw Me a Sheep. - Via

Designed by Brian Lee, the Chubby Brothers dining table is a piece of furniture that can appear as solid object, until the chairs are removed. The Chubby Brothers dining table features Leaf spring seats on each of the four chairs. And once the chairs are pulled out, the table itself breaks down into six parts so that it might fit easily through doors. Brian Lee designed the dining suite with the idea that it would, “allow the audience to gain a different perspective as an unrecognizable object when put together.”

Designed by Japanese company Atelier OPA, the Kenchikukagu is a series of mobile and folding furniture, that are designed for work, sleep and eating. With highly effective designs like a mobile work station, a mobile bed and a mobile kitchen thrown in, the series allows apartment dwellers to cramp in all the essential furniture necessary for urban living, without compromising on form or functionality. Finally for those of you who are impressed by this piece of folding furniture here are some good news, these pieces are not only the concept designs, they are also available on Amazon Japan for 800,000 yen, about $7436 depending on the rate exchange. - Via - 1 & 2

The Stor Chair was designed by Tiina Hakala and is a chair that allows you to store a few magazines, or books right underneath the chair. I don’t know how many people will find this idea useful, but sometimes a hidden place like that could be useful to get rid of mess. Anyway this chair won the 2nd prize in Liverpool Design Show’s Student Awards (2008) and was shortlisted in Design for Dwell competition (2007), in conclusion some people really like this design. Right now this chair is just a concept. - Via

Did you ever enjoy floating on the inflatable pads for the pool or the beach? Well, the inflatable Chair-air is somewhat like those as its cushion is an air bag. The air cushion is a quirky touch to what is a classic looking chair. The sleek PVC surely contrasts dramatically with the hand-carved beechwood Victorian-style chair.
Not only is there the novelty value but the air cushion requires minimal maintenance - a quick wipe-clean and you’re done! However, sharp objects are a distinct no-no!. The Chair-air was designed by Dutch designer, Nathan Wielink of Ontwerpdo.
