If you wore told that the little hobbit houses from Lord of The Rings aren`t true , well they lied because here they are..Who said you can`t be a real living hobbit? It`s amazing but this house is built by two men(father and son) with a low budget (about $6000) in about 2 months. The cool thing is that this 2 man actually give us tips on there site on how to make a home like this and I tell you it`a a lot of fun.A house like this is made of a couple of threes , covered up with plastic , a straw bale wall inside and another few things.Next thing you know you cover up the roof with some mud and wait for the grass to show up. Now you can be your own house “hobbit” designer.

Most Expensive Real Estate in the US

Expensive House Real Estate

In the real estate world from US there is a new record for the most expensive property on the market in the US today. This house is on the market for $165 million, and for this huge sum of money you get – 6.5 acres of land that include four houses, an apartment and a cottage for the security staff. The stats here are dazzling: three separate pools, 29 bedrooms, a movie theater and a disco (the main house has just nine bedrooms). The home was built in 1927 for banker Milton Getz and designed by Gordon Kaufmann. Hearst bought for $120,000 in 1947. The LA times reports that the home is currently owned by attorney-investor Leonard M. Ross, who is looking for a “lifestyle change.” Ross bought the home in 1976.

If you had acted fast 20 years ago, when the home was briefly on the market, you could have picked this place up for $25 million. As Curbed LA mentioned the home has been in several movies including The Godfather, The Jerk and The Bodyguard.

Personally I like the home, but I’m aware that a home like this can cost you a lot of money, and you are just a simple human and this is just to big for someone. – Via – Latimes & BBC

About The Million Dollars Homes

Share |

Business Week recently wrote an article where they discussed why huge million dollars homes are more and more popular. The statistics shows that home sales at the $5 million-plus price range rose 11% in 2006, compared to a 8.4% decline in overall housing market sales. Between 1999 and 2005, the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing says, sales of homes for more than $1 million skyrocketed over 500%. Today, there are seven homes on the market priced at $100 million or more. In 2005, there was just one. Now, why more and more people build this kind of homes ? In these days more and more people get richer and richer. They have worked hard for their money and this is a way to show their “trophy properties”, aquired with a lot of hard work, the prize.
