The SongMax Clothing store is an amazing design project that comes from a Chinese company called Elevation Workshop (ELEV). The founders say that ELEV is “positioned at the crossroads of art and architecture”. We here at Freshome believe that The SongMax clothing store is a perfect combination between the two, a great idea for a unique commercial interior. The brand that the store serves targets business women with strong carriers. Naturally, these types of women want to stand out. The idea here was to make it so that the clients of this fancy clothing store could feel in the center of attention. The floor is lifted in the air similar to a stage and the “L”-shaped lines within the store give it a feeling of space or endless roads.
Using the colors black, white and red, the designers from Elevation Workshop managed to bring elegance and style to this project. However, these were otherwise necessary factors, being given the targeted audience.
We found out that the store has not been yet opened to the public, which explains why no pictures with clothes are available. The opening will occur soon. We only hope that the clothes sold there will live up to the building’s fantastic design. – Via Dezeen

Completed recently by the interior designer Julia Palmer, this magnificent 530 square meter structure overlooks the Mallorca oceanside with casual grace and comfortable simplicity. Designed softly to accent the minimal color from the choices in incorporated artwork and furniture, the Villa easily walks a fine line between a comfortable, elegant family living space and structural accent specific to Mediterranean-designed homes. Calming and graceful, light moves organically through the building from the south side of the structure, but the allowance of architecture fixtures, the rearrangement of of windows and use of soft colors and reflective walls keep the light intensity from being overpowering and, in fact, can also contribute to an efficient use of energy. – via

Everybody knows that the true meaning of good interior design is to work out your small gap within a strict budget in a creative way. And a great example is this residence by Steven Harris and Lucien Rees-Roberts. The guys worked with a 4,000 sqm building and succeed to bring about a contemporary styled interior. Throwing subtle colors and layered textures, the folks over at Reese Roberts Solicitors (they’re specialists property practice in Liverpool) have combined a classic and richly texture approach, with the right amount of lighting in every room. Looks charming! – via

Designed by Kengo Kuma & Associates, The Opposite House Hotel is snuggled in Beijing, China with 98 beautiful guest rooms and an amazingly unique penthouse lying on the two floors of the building. With a striking emerald glass exterior, this hotel adopts an open design which makes use of the abundant natural light and evokes the feeling of spacious loft living. Although it uses a lot of wood in its interior to make a spa ambiance, this is truly a structure of blending between contemporary and conventional. You’ll never get used to the surprise evolved by its six stunning restaurant designs which collaborate luxury and privacy into a whole new level.
What you are going to see today is something really unexpected. A plan to demolish a building in Cankiri, central Turkey went badly wrong when the 25-metre high structure rolled over onto its roof. The building, a flour factory built in 1928 which had been idle since the 1980s, was scheduled to be demolished to make way for a shopping center.
After the explosives were places the experts expected the building to collapse to the ground, but they had a very interesting surprise when the building toppled over, its walls remained intact and it stared to roll. Fortunately the building stopped rolling before it hit another building …good news …nobody was hurt. Take a look at the video attached bellow to see the building demolition surprise in action.
