Architectural Minimalism and Geometric Layouts: Seth Navarrete House
Located in Zapopan, Mexico, Seth Navarrete House is a brilliant example of architectural minimalism. Designed by Agraz Arquitectos, the residence distinguishes itself by its unique geometric layout. Home of a young couple, it was completed with a short budget and on a 200 square meter terrain. From the outside, the inhabitable space might look a little bit tight, but once inside one explores the true spatial quality of the dwelling.
White dominates both, the interior and the exterior. “Due to the lack of conditions for placing the cars out of the architectural scenery, a front plaza that can also be used for any urban need is designed for the garage. In the interior spot where vehicular and pedestrian paths meet, the circulation system begins and from there, on first floor, a hall leads to living and dining rooms, with a small bathroom underneath the stair.” Floor-to-ceiling windows allow light to flood the entire living space enhancing the feeling of space and brightness. The second floor accommodates the private area of the house: the bedrooms, with walk in closets and spacious bathrooms. It’s a relaxing, warm home, that doesn’t suffocate the residents with useless decorations. Its grace results from simplicity, wood finishings and the very clear distribution of space.
