“Live Between Buildings” : A Surprisingly Appealing Concept
Mateusz Mastalski and Ole Robin Storjohann’s project Live Between Buildings is original and highly practical. Winners of the International Design Competition NEW VISION OF THE LOFT 2 organized by roof window manufacturer Fakro and A10 new European architecture magazine, the architects have come up a new vision on modern apartments. Tiny infills between existing buildings could be the new trend when it comes to contemporary micro-home apartments.
Proposed for various dense cities like New York, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Helsinki and London. the tiny living quarters feature playful shapes clouds and speech bubbles. The idea can be taken further, delivering numerous shapes and housing types. Surfaces are all covered with transparent roof windows to let the maximum amount of light in. From what we’ve seen so far, narrow homes can be quite inviting if designed with a large degree of flexibility and functionality. Would you consider living in such a dwelling?
