Creatively Interconnecting Spaces: Four-Level MG Residence in São Paulo

Reinach Mendonça Arquitetos Associados completed the design and development of MG Residence, a modern house located in a suburb in western Sao Paulo, Brazil. The project takes advantage of its flat and deep site, while maximizing the connection with the surrounding green areas. Living spaces are distributed across four levels, including the basement, a 10 car garage, service units and other facilities. The sunken courtyard and 25-meter swimming pool complete the image of a luxurious and highly contemporary family retreat.

Achieving an optimum communication between spaces was the main purpose of this project: “The architectural proposal of keeping people together and in harmony determines the interconnected spaces, including the pool area. A stripe partially invades the ceiling with a double height balcony, built to house the central atrium. The abundant presence of glass allows the visitor or resident to see who is in the children’s room, living room and dining, while overlooking the garden“, explained the architects.
